NAME

Scott Puplava - IT infrastructure & support

Denver, Colorado. Open to systems and infrastructure work: remote or hybrid preferred, on-site in Denver for the right role.

SYNOPSIS

spx0 [--resume] [--email] [--splash]

DESCRIPTION

I've spent eight years in IT support, most of it in places where the tickets never stop: an MSP bench serving legal and biotech clients, an MSSP provisioning firewalls and SIEM appliances, a hosting-provider NOC, and field work that included the new United terminal at DIA. Along the way that has meant root-cause analysis across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, endpoint and email security, and writing escalations with enough detail that the engineer picking them up doesn't have to start over.

The lab below is why this page exists. It runs on hardware I own, and I hold it to production rules: backups get restore-tested, monitoring sends alerts I read, and when something breaks I find out why before I move on. I built it because I like this work. That's also the pitch.

PROJECTS

homelab/

self-hosted infrastructure, run like production

  • Proxmox VE hypervisor on owned hardware. Each service gets its own Debian LXC container, managed as systemd units.
  • Scheduled health checks against the Proxmox API using least-privilege tokens, with alerts pushed to chat.
  • Nightly offsite backups that pass through a custom secret-scrubbing pipeline before anything leaves the box.
  • Public services sit behind Cloudflare DNS and TLS, including a tmux-backed browser terminal (ttyd).

agents/

self-hosted AI agent infrastructure I use every day

  • An LLM agent gateway (Hermes) running as a systemd service, with OAuth-authenticated model backends and MCP tool servers.
  • Cron-scheduled agent jobs (journal digests, infrastructure health reports) that compose and deliver messages to chat on their own.
  • Migrated the whole stack in place from an earlier framework without losing any scheduled workloads.

voiddd.net/

this site

  • Hand-written HTML, CSS, and JS with no framework, no build step, and no trackers.
  • Deployed to Cloudflare Pages from the command line with wrangler.
  • The original homepage, a raymarched ASCII morph, lives on at /splash/.
